As many already know, educational curriculum varies quite a lot from school to school, city to city and country to country. This makes it hard for the worlds populous to have fair access to the wealth of information available to the common student. This student may be a just starting out in their academic career or they may be an adult seeking further education to better their current employment situation. Regardless. A system should be implimented to help these people gain equal and fair knowledge to the vast wealth of learning available out there. Yes I understand that educational costs contribute to a countries well being, but still leave so many would-be be great thinkers out of the loop. Education has always been something that is available to the wealthy nations citizens. Sure some form of education is offered to all, but general knowledge is usually the extent of study. Even within my own country when discussing differences in curriculum with people on one coast compared to the

Sensor Cashing is an interactive Treasure Hunting game in which players use their GPS enabled Smart Phones to find hidden Sensor Cashes. These cashes are compact low cost environmental sensors which periodically collect and store levels of pollutants in their surrounding vicinities. Once a player finds a cache, an App running on their Smart Phone automatically detects a Blue Tooth signal emitted by the device and collects the data that is sitting on the sensor. The data is then uploaded on a  centralized web site using the player's Mobile Internet Connection. The website aggregates the data, maps it, and displays it using graphs and other visualization tools. User profiles will keep track of statistics to encourage players to compete with each other with a goal to ultimately learn more about urban pollution in Albany.

This idea is focused on empowering people with a low cost and easy to use technology to monitor pollutants in their communities, while capitalizing on Digital Exhaust[1

Security can take many forms: personal, financial, physical, political; however, regardless of its form, security, at its foundation, is a basic human need, according to Maslow (1954) that involves the need to feel a sense of well-being and stability. Despite the fact that security is an integral part of human flourishing, most have difficulty understanding what it really means, much less how to achieve it. In order to understand security and how to achieve it, we need to first explore the foundation of security: education.

We’ve lost this foundation. Advancements in the modern world have provided the tools to do great things, but not always the knowledge necessary to take advantage of those tools. We have the resources and technology, but not the know-how. The internet is overflowing with information, but not every individual knows how to use it (due to lack of training or restrictions imposed by an oppressive government). In order to pursue the greater challenges of global security, w

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" – Nelson Mandela

In the last 50 years, the population of the world has exploded tremendously. From three billion in 1960, it has followed a straight upward graph which has led the population in 2012 to reach seven billion. Out of these seven billion, a colossal proportion resides in Third World countries, a term coined very amusingly during the Cold War as to represent countries that had no allegiance either with Capitalism and NATO countries (referred to as the First World states) or Communism and the Soviet Union (described as the Second World nations). Even to this day, these Third World countries lack in immeasurable ways to the 'Big Giants' - a small bunch of developed countries that rule over the entire globe essentially. As this very simplistic of quotes by Mandela at the start of my proposition claims, education is indeed the most powerful weapon that can change and shake the world right from its ve

Introduction
Innovation in the future can be spearheaded and catalysed by taking into consideration a diverse vareity of challenges facing mankind both today and expected in the future and tacically proposing and instituting measures to innovatively curb these challenges.

The Idea
Suppose an education system is engineered and structured such that its based on a  more problem solving tactical approach rather than only being a meet-a-job qualification criteria.Taking into consideration various adverse, complex challenges facing mankind especially in the developed countries such as poverty, food insecurity, starvation, disease infestation, natural distaster unpreparedness, illiteracy, unstable economies, civil wars, environmental degradation and pollution and so on and from a deep and thorough investigative study and research on their causes their results and recommendations are integrated in the modern day education curiculum to allign the students the objectives of continual problem solving while p

PureLand Journeys is the idea that we can use our travels to make an impact on the lives of others. We are a platform that connects travellers to poor rural villagers in developing countries and student translators for an authentic village homestay experience. We engage poor families as our local hosts and local university students as our translators, empowering them with economic and education opportunities, to improve their quality of lives and employability respectively. Through that, we aim to design a future of journeys that matter.

Our technology is simple. We are building a web-based platform that connects the traveler, the rural villager and the local university student translator. This will be a new platform that disrupts the current form of tourism. It combines web and SMS technology to provide a seamless experience for both traveler and host. From the traveler’s point of view, selecting a tour is as easy as submitting a web application. On the other hand, the villagers and tr

Most elementary and middle schools lack the engineering component in STEM curriculum as identified by the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) and the National Research Council (NRC) in their report “Engineering in K–12 Education UNDERSTANDING THE STATUS AND IMPROVING THE PROSPECTS.”  They also, emphasize that “engineering design” should be taught for STEM students in schools promoting engineering education following the engineering habits of mind. Despite having concrete guiding principles on the direction and form of engineering in school curricula, there was limited information in the report on how to apply the engineering principles in a classroom setting.

To attract young children to STEM fields, Virginia Commonwealth University undergraduate students and faculty (Ben White, Alex Tatom, and Matthew Proietti, Patrick Profitt, Sarah Cunningham and Dr. Pidaparti) developed the Mars Mission Design Strategy board game. The overall goal of the "Mars Mission” board game is t

Teachers are invaluable for education and are key to preparing our future generations. However, they are seldom inspired to reach new heights beyond meeting their immediate needs related to classroom management. Further, they are often not updated on the latest developments and applications in the fields of science and technology. This has significant implications for their motivation to teach in ways that can spark curiosities in young minds about STEM related disciplines. Given this, we see a need for retiring or retired scientists from Lockheed Martin to collaborate with teachers in schools in an effort to improve the pedagogy of STEM in middle and high schools. This will provide teachers a much required platform for seeking mentoring from practicing scientists about application based teaching of STEM topics and allow the scientists in Lockheed Martin an opportunity to contribute towards preparing future scientists and engineers.

Our idea is to develop an Online Platform which will
